The main character is Elle Evans who is missing her boyfriend and has decided to do a road trip with her best friend Lee to Boston to meet up with Amanda and Noah. Elle is getting ready to go to college and wants one perfect spring break before the stress of picking a college. This novella is a romance young adult book. My favourite bit was Elle an I decided to read this book as I loved the first four in the series. My favourite bit was Elle and Lee in the car on the way to Boston. All the things you expected out of a road trip with their usual banter. I missed Rachel in this and Levi.
I loved all the banter in this and the cute moments with Elle and Noah. This is the perfect novella before the final novel in the series which I am very excited for.
The book was decent. It was just a fluffy romance that didn't take too much effort and was pretty fun. It was just a really easy-going road-trip story about friends and finding hardeg main character's boyfriend in college. But, not a lot happened - there isn't much plot. If you were a big fan of the other books, you will probably like this one too. It was gooodreads more bland story than usual with Lee and Elle going on a roadtrip to visit Noah on campus. It still had some cute and fun moments but was lacking some more power to the story. How it got adapted by Netflix? Unfortunately, my calculator does not compute these highly unrealistic, just simply stupid events. So we're just going to talk about why this is problematic. Basically, Noah's been going around telling boys that he'll hurt them if they ask Elle on a date. Not to mention the fact that he's threatening assault on people who did absolutely nothing. And that also plays a big theme throughout the book, but that's definitely not in the way it should. What should've happened is Elle should have stood up to Noah and told him to quit it, the fact that you can't command another person's life or dating life and it is not hot when someone does should've come into play, and many other discussions about it should've been held. Instead, Elle hasn't gone through a first kiss, first date, doesn't know how to act on dates, etc.
I'm not sure this could've gotten any more shallow. The fact that Noah's been controlling her dating life and not letting her do her own thing also makes Noah super super hot. The story here is simple — girl and boy Elle and Lee have been best friends literally since their birth on the same day, in the same hospital. But when the hagder carnival rolls around and Elle and Lee find themselves running the most popular booth of all, things start going a little sideways. Which leads to Elle and Noah following the sage advice of one R. But seriously, they thr to keep it on the down low. What can go wrong, right? If you grew up on John Hughes movies and are not a continue reading of Generation Butthurt, you might find this enjoyable as well. Or you can make me morph into Mallory Archer and want to scream at you.
